As a Workshop Supervisor of Metal Fabricators you will get to:

• Must be able to fabricate to a high standard as time on tools is part of the role.
• Oversee the fabrication of a solid variety of metal fabrication works including Stainless steel bench work, Architectural Aluminium fabrication, Staircases, Balustrades.
• Manage a small team of fabricators ensuring that targets are met and time frames are adhered to.
• When not supervising you will have the opportunity to fabricate to an exceptionally high standard
• Perform quality checks on fabrication at regular intervals on work.
• Have the ability to plan and assist with rostering and staff allocation in alignment with SOPS and skill sets of staff
• Liaising with Operations Manager in Planning of Fabrication and installations to meet deadlines
• Use of Roster and Planning tools
• Ensure all fabricators work to safe working procedures and systems. SWMS
• Maintain work accuracy and quality standards in all aspects of manufacture.
• Ensure sufficient task analysis are completed to carry work out safely using SWMS.
• Purchase materials and consumables as required in line with the monthly budget.
• Monitor the use and care of equipment and plant to minimise waste and damage.
• Ensure equipment and tools and used correctly.
• Ensure housekeeping is ongoing by maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
• Be involved in training of WHS requirements in workshop.
• Provide leadership, direction and training to assigned Talent.
• Ensure daily time sheets are completed accurately and on time using internal software
• Assist in the management of a harmonious culture of workplace
• Enforce safety rules through ongoing communication, daily huddles and weekly meetings.
• Open/close Workshop, Enabling and Disarming of alarm.
• Assist in interviewing new Talent.
• Assist with performance appraisals.
• Assist with terminations.
• Assist and issue employee warnings.
• Plan overtime for approval.

Essential

• Minimum of 5 years experience in Fabrication
• Management or leading hand experience
• Driver’s license
• Trades certification
• White Card
• Ability to read working drawings and accurately calculate measurements.

The following will be well regarded but are not essential

• MR Truck License
• Working safely at heights
• Glass installation experience (glazing)
